St. Thomas puts Charlotte Amalie’s shops and historic streets alongside beach days. St. John centers on national park trails and bays; St. Croix has two historic towns and its own airport. Water Island is a smaller ferry outing. Choose the setting you want, then work out the arrival and return.

Pick the island from the actual trip

St. Thomas has Cyril E. King Airport; St. Croix has Henry E. Rohlsen Airport. St. John has no airport, so a stay there includes a ferry connection. Water Island is reached by ferry from Crown Bay on St. Thomas.

Check the airport or berth, the correct ferry terminal, your travel date and the return crossing together. A ferry timetable does not include the transfer to the dock or transport after arrival.

Weather, cost, and property checks

Atlantic hurricane season has an official June-through-November window, but the season label does not predict the weather for a trip. Check current National Hurricane Center and National Weather Service information, direct-source rates and policies, and insurance terms.

Water source and treatment can vary by property or system. Ask the property what supplies the taps and what guidance applies, then check current WAPA, EPA, DPNR, or public-health notices instead of treating a territory-wide drinking-water assurance as established.

Open the current Visit USVI travel-document guidance and TSA accepted-ID list before departure. Check CBP, the carrier, and any cruise line for the actual route. A BVI leg is international travel and requires a separate current State Department and destination check.
