Over 19,000 acres of submerged and dry land a mile and a half off St. Croix, protecting endangered elkhorn coral reefs and holding a marked underwater snorkel trail. Northstar Bay Beach

Northstar Bay Beach lies on St. Croix’s North Shore between Davis Bay and Cane Bay—a shore-access stop known more for snorkeling and scuba than soft amenities. Destination guides note a dramatic offshore depth drop and abundant marine life that draw divers from shore or by charter; there are no on-beach restaurants or dive shops (Cane Bay nearby covers those). Park along North Shore Road (Route 80) and do not leave valuables in the car.

Cane Bay Dive Shop

A PADI five-star Instructor Development Center at 2 Strand Street in Frederiksted, teaching from Discover Scuba up to instructor level. Boat dives leave the Salt River boat launch aboard the Ibis, and the Cane Bay Wall drops to 1,400 feet about 300 yards offshore past sheer faces of sponges and sea fans. The shop also runs guided shore dives, snorkeling tours and private charters.
